Videogänger

with Ian McAlpin

2014  ·  live performance

An improvisational performance created with Ian McAlpin. I am aggressively interviewed on stage by a video clone of myself, which is controlled by McAlpin using a Max patch.

Staging a public existential crisis, the interview grapples with questions of the self in multiplicity. Against the backdrop of the crumbling Moran Plant in Burlington VT, site of the exhibition "Pathways: Past/Present" (curated by Catherine Siller), the interview becomes an absurdist power struggle with language over language. "Who's driving the horse?"
