A 3,700-word poem about the twin human thirsts for novelty and transcendence. The title phrase contains paradoxical resonances of banal advertising, sexual conquest and disposability, and impossible yearnings for a radically new and better world and a return to the open sky of youth.
The All-New was performed live in its entirety twice, once at the International Festival of Text-Sound Poetry in Brooklyn, and once at Anne-James Chaton's RADIO in Paris. A full reading is 40 minutes; embedded below is a 3-minute excerpt.
